YOU DID IT!

You brought the very best of yourselves.
You sacrificed your time & talents.
You GAVE.

We came UP to the Mountain of the Lord together...but it's not over.
This is just the beginning of our journey to the temple and to the Savior.

Will you continue on that journey?

(Leave your commitment here. Tell us how you've felt about this experience. Make your voice heard!)

WE LOVE YOU!

  2. This Celebration was truly incredible. I don't want to ever forget it. The music, the dances, the messages, the fact that we got to perform for the prophet, it's all so over-whelming! I'm so very grateful that I got to be in it! I WILL "continue on that journey"!

  3. I attended a broadcast tonite, and brought my children. It was a night to remember. The Spirit was strong, and it was FUN, too. Thank you all so much for all your hard work. It was a wonderful blessing to be able to watch this celebration.

Will the music to the finale be made available anywhere?

  4. It was AMAZING tonight! I haven't felt the spirit so strongly in a long time. I'm so grateful I got to be in this. One of the best parts was when the congregation started singing "We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet" as he walked on-stage. Thank you all for bringing me closer to Christ and Heavenly Father.

  5. I'm extremely sad its over. Last night was the best thing ever!! I cried!! And the Conference Center was extremely packed!! President Eyring waved at me, he looked at me and I waved all excited and he smiled and waved really fast right back! It was the greatest ending to my night. I'm really sad the preparations for it are over, I loved going to my Stake Center every Sunday to practice singing. But I'm not stopping now. I will still attend the Temple once a week (my What Will I Give? project) and I plan on learning piano to play church hymns. MY FAVORITE SONGS(: Anyways, I would just like to thank all of those who sent out the text messages and posted blog posts on here. They really helped me and I really enjoyed reading everything they had to say. So thank you for this wonderful experience that I will NEVER forget!

  7. This celebration is the most amazing thing I have ever been apart of. I am so grateful that I was able to be apart of it.
I have honestly never felt the spirit so strongly. When the temple came up out of the mountain everyone in my row had tears in their eyes. Even the guys cried..
It was an honor to have the prophet watch me dance. He is an inspiration to everyone. When he went and talked to the handicapped participents it made tears come to me and my best friends eyes. I know that him doing that made their days. He is an amzing person. I love him.
Since we started I have thought more about my actions. I feel like i have become a better person. And i hope that I can continue improving.
Thank you to everyone who made this happen, I know it changed MANY people's lives. Thank you.

  10. I sang with the choir and was amazed at the performance on stage. Then I turned around and saw the thousands of youth moving to and from their seats in the Conference Center. It was almost as exciting to see that part of the performance. How did it all come together? I guess at that moment I realized just how much work went into putting this together. Thank you to all the leaders who saw the vision of what this could be and how it would help us become more committed to the Gospel and especially the Temple. I know many of us were sometimes tough to work with and weren't as good as we could have been, but thank you for sticking with us. My life will never be the same. I will never look at the Temple the same way. I love the Savior. I love to see the Temple.

  13. I'm crying as I read these... My name is Jarom Norris, and I was in the Choir for the Oquirrh Mountain Celebration. I really loved this celebration- the spirit, and the excitement of knowing that I was helping to celebrate the temple. I'm a teacher, and I'm really disapointed that I can't help with the Open House.
The Dress rehearsal was really spiritual, too. During the last couple dances the first time around, during the Asian Dance, I wondered, "This Celebration seems to be more about differant Cultures than about the Temple. Why aren't we focused on more Spiritual Topics?" Almost instantly, the answer popped into my head, a line from the Finale: "Come all Nations, hear the call - join together one and all - Sing as one the song of truth - gather in the strength of Youth" I thought "These dances beneath the mountain represent all nations coming to the Mountain of the Lord." It was cool how the spirit was so strong that I got the answer to my question instantly.
Also at the Rehearsal, I was watching the missionaries as we sang "I love to see the temple." I looked up, and the temple was already on the mountain. I went from totally content watching the dance- to crying uncontrollably. I burst into tears, the spirit was that strong.
Another cool moment- after the preformance, President Monson went up on stage with the banner carriers, took one of the banners, and waved it above his head. The crowd Exploded. They went nuts. There were cries of "We Love You, President Monson!" and cheers and applause. I love President Monson.
This has been such a great experiance, and I'm sorry It's over. But Our Youth Conferance is based on this and the Temple, and I'm teally excited. Thanks to everyone who helped put this together!

  16. At first when we started this celebration I really didn't realize how lucky I was to performing and celebrating the new Oquirrh Mountain temple. The thought really didn't hit me until the night of the performance. This is the house of the lord's temple were celebrating and this will always be my temple. The feeling I've had during this experience was better than I have ever imagined. I mean the thought of celebrating two new temples here in Utah is even more exciting than ever!! We should all be proud and happy for doing this and remembering the house of the lord, Jesus Christ.

  17. The Temple Celebration was soooo much fun! It was probably the most amazing experience I have had in my whole life!
I wasn't really that nervous (at first) and then as it got closer and closer to our dance I started to get shaky legs and my stomach was constantly flipping and turning upside down.
When we stood up, I almost fell because I was so nervous (I get nervous really easy). And then when we got down there, my friend, who "wasn't nervous" walked onto the stage, saw all the people, and her eyes grew HUGE. We both skipped down to where we were supposed to be and we both concentrated on smiling and doing our jobs.
Out finale was the best one up there that we've ever done and we all had a ton of fun! We seemed to feel the spirit that was in the air and moved together harmoniously. It was our best performance ever!
I loved the whole Temple Celebration and I am so glad that I got the amazing opportunity to participate in it!

  18. It's so great to be able to read all of these comments and testimonies. I'm with you on this one, Jarom, and I don't cry very much! I can't say that I have ever felt the Spirit like we all did that night...it was indescribable other than I have never felt anything so beautiful. We are so lucky that we were willing to go and do this, for the temples, for the youth that didn't get this chance, for our Father in Heaven. And it was soo cool to be able to share this experience with my family! It was amazing to see this temple celebration turn out. Thank you to all the committees that pulled this together, and the patient leaders, and the people who put together the texting and blog. Thanks for giving us a chance to have this "June Rose in the December of our lives"-it was sooo cool to have Pres Monson there. Thank you to all the amazing youth that participated!!!

  24. Two months later, and I still think of the Temple Celebration often. Can't wait for our stake gathering to receive the DVD and reminisce. Thank you to all who made this very amazing experience one I will always remember. It changed my heart. It changed my understanding of the temple. It changed my appreciation for great people and sacrifice for important things. Thank you!

  25. The Temple celebration was one of the most amazing things I have ever done. I will never forget the spirit I felt and the fun I had. Thanks so much!

I have a question though... is the celebration going to be made into a DVD? I really hope it does. I have the DVD from the Day of Celebration and it would be fantastic if i could be able to watch the Temple Celebration again. If i could find this out that would be great! Thanks :)

  30. ok, even though the temple celebration was almost a year ago i still love immersing myself in the feeling of it. i like to visit the web site every once in a while just to bring back those feelings. i love all the feelings i got! all the friends i made, all the experiences i had, all the spirit i felt during everything!
i'm so grateful for the leaders and everyone for giving up an immense amount of time to give us youth an amazing experience. it made us appreciate the temple a lot more, it made us feel like it was our temple because we spent so much time preparing for it. and to perform in front of our prophet was amazing!
