What Will I Give?

The scriptures are full of examples of the Children of God making offerrings to the Lord as a symbol of their commitment to Him (including at temple dedications. See Ezra 6:16-17). Many Saints have offerred up their time, their talents, their money and their possessions to build temples in this last dispensation. For some, their offering has been to get themselver TO the temple...whether through spiritual preparation or very real sacrifices of time and money to travel to a temple this is still too far away.

It is a privilege to be living in a time and place where temples are so easily seen and so readily available. And though your time and talents and money might not be needed to build these particular temples, there is still an opportunity to COME UP TO THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD with YOUR unique offering.

Ask yourself: WHAT WILL I GIVE?

In addition to giving of your time and your talents in preparing for the Celebration Event, we invite all youth and their families, along with all adults involved in the Celebration, to participate in the WHAT WILL I GIVE? project!

You can choose to give anything that will show Him your commitment to "come up to the mountain"...perhaps a little bit better than you are today.

* Give more time in prayer or scripture study
* Give UP a habit that is keeping you from having the spirit with you
* Fast more frequently
* Participate in the temple more often
* Choose to spend more time in the Duty to God or Personal Progress programs

Whatever your offering, join the project!
Get your family & friend to join in too!
And share your offering here...

"Come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him..." (Omni 1:26)

SO...beginning now...until the Celebration Event...what will YOU give?

    I will give more time to read my scriptures, because i'm on the swim team and during the summer we still have practice each morning and when i get home i'm always really tired so i'll usually either take a nap on the couch or in my bed and instead of taking that nap i'll have my scriptures there ready to be read and so that they can remind me of what I need to give!!! I encourage more people to GIVE WHAT THEY WILL GIVE and if you do you'll be even more blessed

  23. I WAS THE DANCE AFTER THE TRAIN DANCE FOR THE OQUIRRAH MOUNTAIN TEMPLE WE WERE CALLED "INDUSTRY"(PARK STAKE/HIGHLAND STAKE. IT WAS THE NEATEST EXPERIENCE EVER! I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER IT. I LOVE MY WRISTBAND AND WILL TRY TO CONTINUE TO WEAR IT. YOU COULD NOT BE AT THE CONFERENCE CENTER AND NOT FEEL THE SPIRIT. IT WAS SO STRONG. I WAS SO NERVOUS LOOKING AT THE CONGREGATION IN THE CONFERENCE CENTER. EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT THAT'S LIKE, BUTTERFLIES IN YOUR STOMACH, HEART RACING, SWEATING, BUT MY TESTIMONY GREW, AND IT TRUELY WAS WORTHWHILE, LIKE I SAID THE SPIRIT WAS SO STRONG, IT WAS COOL TO PERFORM IN FRONT OF PRES. MONSON. HE IS TRUELY AN AMAZING PROPHET AND A TRUE ONE TOO. THIS IS REALLY THE TRUE RESTORED CHURCH, THE GOSPEL IS REALLY TRUE. I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY,FAST,READ THE SCRIPTURES, AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF. I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND THE OQUIRRAH MOUNTAIN, AND DRAPER TEMPLES FOR THE OPENHOUSES, I WAS ALSO ABLE TO DO BAPTISMS AT THE DRAPER TEMPLE. I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. THEY ARE TRUELY BLESSED, SACRED BUILDINGS, THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL BETTER YET, WE CAN DO TEMPLE WORK.TEMPLES ARE THE BEST! WE NEED TO DO ALL WE CAN TO ATTEND THE TEMPLE, AND WE NEED TO PREPARE TO GET MARRIED IN THE TEMPLE! WE REALLY GET BLESSINGS FROM LIVING THE GOSPEL.

  26. Yay! I finally got a copy of the temple celebration!
    That was an amazing experience. I still have a hard time believing that I was so blessed as to live in the right area and be at just the right age to get to participate in that incredible celebration. Still, nearly a year after it, I'm thinking about it and how significant it was that we got two more temples built right next to us! I'm so incredibly grateful for them and for the two temple celebrations that accompanied them!
